Established in the 1980s, China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) became a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Ltd. (CCCC) in 2005. CHEC ventures into international markets, boasting a workforce of over 15,000 employees across 90+ overseas branches, subsidiaries, and representative offices worldwide.

Renowned for its global prowess in marine engineering, CHEC has spearheaded 90% of port and waterway projects in China, alongside a significant portfolio of international ventures. With the world’s most robust dredging fleet, CHEC excels in environmentally friendly dredging and reclamation, offering innovative solutions for offshore land establishment.

CHEC’s expertise extends to diverse terrains, from urban and mountainous regions to deserts, swamps, plateaus, and other challenging environments. The company has successfully undertaken road and bridge constructions under various geographic conditions, showcasing its adaptability and skill. Participating in over 60 railway and expressway constructions globally, CHEC’s technical prowess triumphs over intricate geographical hurdles.

About CHEC Americas

In 2013, CHEC Americas was formally established. By 2015, headquartered in Panama, the company expanded its operations, encompassing a wide range of sectors such as ports, roads, bridges, airports, railways, buildings, and energy.

From 1985 to 2013, CHEC experienced significant market expansion, securing projects across diverse sectors, fostering business relationships, and contributing to infrastructure development across more than 12 countries in the Americas.

Since 2017, CHEC Americas has evolved into the operational hub of CHEC, transitioning from a conventional contractor to an integrated services provider, establishing a strong brand presence and spearheading industrial development.

Presently, CHEC Americas boasts a presence in 17 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, with its Panama branch serving as the regional office since 2015. To date, the company has contracted nearly 40 projects, successfully completing over 20 of them.

With our fundamental principle of “Immense Americas, Infinite Development,” we recognize the immense potential of the Americas and commit to generating and sharing maximum value for the local communities.

CHEC Americas is the biggest investment operator among all the CHEC branches, and our projects account for over 50% of the total investment from CHEC. This means that CHEC accentuates and values the potential of the Americas region.
