On February 28, the Honourable Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica, conducted an official visit to one of the country’s most impactful low-income housing developments. He was accompanied by Sylvester Tullock, Vice President of the Jamaica Housing Authority, as well as senior project officials and engineers.
During the site tour, Prime Minister Holness reviewed the construction progress and commended the quality, design, and structural integrity of the homes being delivered. He took time to engage directly with several residents, listening to their experiences and feedback on how the project has improved their quality of life.
In a statement to the media, the Prime Minister underscored the strategic importance of the initiative, highlighting its role in addressing Jamaica’s housing deficit, revitalizing underserved communities, and stimulating local economic activity through job creation and infrastructure investment.
This visit reflects the Government of Jamaica’s strong support for the project and its recognition of the broader social and economic benefits it brings to the nation. The development, which is being executed in close partnership with China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), stands as a model for sustainable and inclusive urban growth in the region.
