On March 26, 2025, China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) received a formal letter of appreciation from St. Thomas Technical High School, recognizing the company’s meaningful contribution to the local community through its work on the Tranche 3 segment of the Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project in Jamaica.
The school commended CHEC for its renovation of the campus playground and much-needed upgrades to the sewer system—improvements that have significantly enhanced both the physical environment and the daily well-being of students and staff. These efforts, carried out in close collaboration with school administrators and community leaders, reflect CHEC’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and to generating positive, lasting impacts in the areas where it operates.
This recognition highlights the broader value of the Southern Coastal Highway project—not only in terms of transportation infrastructure, but also in fostering community development, education, and quality of life for local residents.
Through initiatives like these, CHEC continues to strengthen its reputation as a responsible partner in Jamaica’s development, committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure while investing in the people and communities it serves.
