On May 12, 2025, the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal Project received a formal letter of appreciation from Santo Tomás University of Colombia, recognizing the project’s team for their professionalism, hospitality, and dedication to education during an academic visit by 48 engineering students and faculty members.
As part of the visit, the CHEC project team delivered a series of in-depth technical presentations, engaged in Q&A sessions, and led a guided tour of key construction areas. The visit offered students valuable insights into the complexities of large-scale bridge construction, including design principles, project management strategies, and on-site engineering techniques.
The university praised the experience as highly enriching, noting that it significantly enhanced the students’ understanding of real-world infrastructure development. The visit formed part of CHEC’s ongoing efforts to foster knowledge sharing, professional development, and stronger academic-industry partnerships across Latin America.
This recognition highlights CHEC’s commitment not only to engineering excellence, but also to investing in the next generation of engineers and promoting the transfer of knowledge throughout the region.
