On June 9, President of the Republic of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, conducted an official inspection of the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal, one of the country’s most significant infrastructure projects currently under construction. He was accompanied by José Luis Andrade, Minister of Public Works, and Jacqueline Muñoz, Minister of Labor.

During the site visit, President Mulino received a comprehensive update on the progress of the project, toured various active work zones, and engaged directly with engineers, technicians, and workers on the ground. He commended the professionalism, dedication, and hard work of the construction team and encouraged them to continue advancing steadily toward the scheduled completion in 2028. The President emphasized that the bridge will play a critical role in improving the lives of Panamanians by facilitating access, mobility, and development.

Once completed, the Fourth Bridge will dramatically enhance connectivity between Panama City and the western provinces, benefiting more than 2 million residents. The project is expected to strengthen national transportation networks, boost trade and tourism, and support long-term economic growth, while significantly improving daily commuting for thousands of Panamanians.

The President’s inspection underscores the high priority the government places on this transformative project. It also reaffirms the commitment of the project team to deliver a high-quality, strategically vital piece of infrastructure for the country.

Going forward, the project team will continue to focus on rigorous planning, strict quality control, and efficient execution to ensure that the Fourth Bridge is completed on time and to the highest engineering standards—contributing to a stronger, more connected Panama.
