On October 13, the Montego Bay Perimeter Road Project officially launched its vocational internship program in collaboration with the Jamaican Ministry of Education. The program aims to strengthen local talent development through hands-on technical training. Over 20 participants, including project representatives and interns, attended the kickoff meeting.
During the session, the project manager welcomed the interns, introduced the project’s background and ongoing local training efforts, and encouraged them to make full use of this opportunity to enhance their professional skills. A local safety engineer then provided a comprehensive safety orientation, ensuring all participants were familiar with on-site procedures before beginning their practical training.
The two-week program, organized jointly with the Ministry of Education, selected 10 outstanding students from nine schools, covering three technical disciplines—welding, plumbing, and building technology. This initiative marks an important step in fostering local skilled workers and advancing project localization.
Looking ahead, the project team will continue to deepen cooperation with local authorities and technical institutions, fulfill its corporate social responsibilities, and create new pathways for training and employing skilled Jamaican talent.
