On December 4, the NMIA Runway Extension Project, Jamaica, received a letter of commendation from the client, PAC KAL, recognizing the project team for the on-time and high-quality completion of the temporary relocation of Runway 12 lighting—one of the project’s key milestones.

In the letter, the client noted that despite strict aviation safety requirements, limited operational windows, and the impact of Hurricane Melissa, the CHEC management team began preparations several months in advance and executed the works with careful planning and strong coordination. The client praised the team’s performance as demonstrating the capabilities of a world-class engineering team and expressed confidence in the successful, high-standard completion of the overall project.

The commendation reflects strong recognition of the project team’s unity, resilience, and problem-solving capabilities, as well as CHEC’s growing competitiveness in the airport infrastructure sector. The team will continue to advance on-site construction steadily, strengthen contract execution management, and remain focused on schedule and performance objectives to ensure the project’s timely and successful delivery.
