Recently, Costa Rica’s leading newspaper La República published a feature on the Route 32 Highway Project undertaken by CHEC, highlighting the project’s innovative practices in occupational health and safety management as well as the important role played by female professionals throughout project implementation. The report reflects the project’s high-standard delivery and the effectiveness of its localized management approach.

The article noted that Route 32 is a national-level infrastructure project connecting the capital city San José with the Caribbean port of Limón. Given its large scale and complex construction environment, the project places high demands on safety production and occupational health management. During implementation, CHEC has continuously strengthened its occupational health management system, introducing systematic risk assessment, health monitoring, and on-site preventive measures to effectively safeguard worker health and operational safety, serving as a positive reference for the local infrastructure sector.

La República also emphasized that several female professionals hold key positions within the project’s occupational health management team. Their active involvement in risk identification, safety training, on-site supervision, and emergency management demonstrates the team’s professional and meticulous management capabilities, while also reflecting CHEC’s commitment to gender equality and inclusive development.
