On December 15, the Panama Fourth Bridge Project successfully completed the casting of the first precast segmental girder for the approach bridge superstructure, marking a significant milestone in the project’s construction progress.

The approach bridge superstructure adopts a precast segmental box girder system, with dedicated precasting yards established on both the east and west banks of the Panama Canal. Construction is carried out using a combination of short-line match casting and bridge launching gantry erection techniques.

The successful completion of the first precast girder signifies the project’s formal transition into substantive superstructure construction. Building on this achievement, the project team will carefully organize the mobilization of key equipment, including the bridge launching gantry, while accelerating substructure works. With strict quality control and high construction standards throughout all stages, the team is laying a solid foundation for subsequent girder erection and ensuring the project’s on-time and high-quality delivery.
