On December 18, Panama’s President José Raúl Mulino led a high-level delegation—including the Minister of Public Works, Rafael Sabonge Andrade, and nearly ten cabinet members—to inspect the Fourth Bridge Project. The delegation visited key construction areas, including East Main Pier M3, West Main Pier M4, the West Bank precast yard, and Sosa Hill, and held a regular weekly press briefing at the M3 site. The event was broadcast live on Panama’s national television, with coverage by Xinhua News Agency and leading local media.
Prior to the briefing, the Minister of Public Works presented the new design方案 for the East Interchange through an animated video, noting that it will become the largest transportation hub in Panama and Central America, significantly improving urban traffic flow. In his remarks, President Mulino emphasized the project’s transformative impact on Panama’s transportation system, urban development, and national image. He commended the project’s progress and expressed appreciation to the joint venture and the Panamanian and Chinese teams for their dedication, highlighting that the bridge will become a national landmark upon completion.
The visit underscores the Panamanian government’s strong commitment and confidence in the project. To date, the overall construction progress has reached 30%, and the project team will continue to optimize coordination, focus on critical construction milestones, and accelerate execution to ensure high-quality and timely delivery.
