On January 2, the Montego Bay Perimeter Road Project successfully completed the installation of all bridge girders with the precise placement of the final 30-meter T-girder at the Bogue Road Interchange, marking another major milestone in project delivery.

Since the launch of concentrated girder erection works, the project team has strictly implemented CHEC’s “Twelve Safety Measures”, organizing multiple technical workshops to optimize construction sequencing and traffic diversion plans. Through innovative bearing installation techniques and effective coordination, the team successfully overcame challenges such as limited working space and heavy urban traffic. All girder transportation and erection works at the Barnett Street Bridge and Bogue Road Interchange Bridge were completed safely and efficiently while maintaining normal traffic flow on existing roads.

With this achievement, a total of 77 girders across three bridges have now been safely erected. The entire process was carried out under controlled conditions, with well-organized execution and zero safety incidents.

This milestone represents the first major critical achievement following the impact of a severe hurricane, drawing widespread attention from local media. It highlights the project team’s strong organizational capability, resilience, and ability to deliver under pressure—setting a solid foundation for the project’s final construction phase in 2026 and supporting the high-quality delivery of Jamaica’s broader road infrastructure program in the years ahead.
