Our Projects

Highways and Bridges

China Harbour has outstanding experience in building roads and bridges under the most challenging conditions—from mountains and oceans to deserts, marshes, and plateaus. Landmark projects worldwide, such as the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge and Malaysia’s Second Penang Bridge, demonstrate our engineering excellence and global recognition.

Today, we bring this expertise and innovation to the Americas, delivering infrastructure that strengthens connectivity, supports sustainable growth, and transforms communities across the region.

Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal

The Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal is a landmark infrastructure project located in Panama City, designed to significantly enhance the country’s transportation network. The project includes the construction of the main bridge, viaducts, and interchanges on both ends. Its centerpiece is a striking three-span steel-concrete composite cable-stayed bridge, measuring 965 meters in total length (240m + 485m + 240m).

The bridge features a distinctive H-shaped main tower standing approximately 186 meters tall, with a 75-meter navigation clearance, and a deck width of 36.87 meters.

Major Infrastructure Development Program (MIDP)

The project involves the construction of a new four-lane roadway, bridges, and supporting infrastructure, enhancing transportation links to improve efficiency and drive economic activity, tourism, and community development.

National Route 32 Project

This project upgrades 104.2 km of Highway 32 into a four-lane expressway, linking Limón and the Nicaraguan border. It crosses five cities, seven rivers, and several national roads.

Montego Bay Perimeter Road

This 15 km road connects key intersections in Montego Bay. The works include major earthworks, 7 bridges, 13 tunnels, 45 culverts, and over 700,000 m² of subgrade and base course construction.

Mar 2 Highway Project

This 136 km PPP project includes 118.3 km of road upgrades and 17.7 km of new construction. As Colombia’s second highway to the Atlantic, it boosts regional connectivity. It’s also the first Chinese-funded PPP in Latin America, marking a key milestone for CHEC Americas.

Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project

The Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project is a transformative infrastructure initiative designed to enhance connectivity and drive economic growth across Jamaica. The project is divided into four main sections, with CHEC Americas responsible for the design and construction of Sections A and B-ii.

As the first project launched under the Belt and Road Framework Agreement between the governments of China and Jamaica, it holds strategic importance in Jamaica’s long-term development plan. Once completed, this highway is expected to significantly boost economic activity in the eastern region of the country, creating new opportunities for trade, investment, and community development.

San Borja-San Ignacio de Moxos Highway

This 139.6 km road links La Paz and Beni as part of Bolivia’s West-North corridor.

Funded by a CAF loan and local contributions, the project aims to improve regional integration, with a construction timeline of 42 months.

Jamaica South-NorthExpressway

Stretching 66.7 km from Kingston to the north coast, this four-lane expressway opened in 2016.

Known locally as “the most beautiful expressway,” it supports tourism and national development. CHEC holds a 50-year concession.
