Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project

The Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project is a transformative infrastructure initiative designed to enhance connectivity and drive economic growth across Jamaica. The project is divided into four main sections, with CHEC Americas responsible for the design and construction of Sections A and B-ii.

As the first project launched under the Belt and Road Framework Agreement between the governments of China and Jamaica, it holds strategic importance in Jamaica’s long-term development plan. Once completed, this highway is expected to significantly boost economic activity in the eastern region of the country, creating new opportunities for trade, investment, and community development.
